Mix Your Own Shade: 12 Crazy Color Combinations to Try

Crazy Color Blue Jade 100ml with teal hair

One of the best things about Crazy Color is that every shade can be mixed with another. Want a red with more depth, a softer pink or a green nobody else has? Mix it. Here are some of our favourite combinations.

Reds and warm tones

  • Ruby Rouge + Vermillion Red + Fire – a multi-tonal red with real depth.
  • Bordeaux + Cyclamen or Bordeaux + Ruby Rouge – personalised berry reds.
  • Burgundy + Aubergine or Burgundy + Bordeaux – rich, dark wine shades.
  • Orange + Canary Yellow – adds warmth and glow to orange.
  • Fire + Orange – a bright red-and-orange look.

Blues and greens

  • Blue Jade + Bubblegum Blue – brightens the ocean-blue tone.
  • Bubblegum Blue ends with a Blue Jade root – an easy two-tone blue.
  • Emerald Green + Blue Jade or + Pine Green – a deeper green.
  • Lime Twist + Canary Yellow + Toxic UV – an even more intense lime.

Pinks and purples

  • Pinkissimo + Candy Floss + Cyclamen – perfect for an ombré.
  • Violette + Hot Purple, Pinkissimo or Cyclamen – your own custom purple.
  • Marshmallow + Candy Floss – a sweet bubblegum pink.

Pastels: the Neutral Mix trick

Love a shade but want it softer? Crazy Color Neutral Mix turns bold, vivid colours into pastel hues. Simply combine it with your chosen shade until you reach the intensity you want – the more Neutral Mix, the softer the result.

Tips for mixing

  1. Mix in a non-metal bowl with a tint brush.
  2. Write down your ratio (for example 2 parts Blue Jade to 1 part Bubblegum Blue) so you can repeat it.
  3. Always strand test your mix first – it is the only way to see the real result on your hair.
  4. Mix enough for the whole head in one go.
